2016 Chevrolet Malibu – Fuel Economy Review

In this episode, we test drive the all new 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. The Malibu comes standard with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine capable of generating 163hp (@5700rpm) and 250lb-ft (@2500-3500rpm), which is the model we tested. Also available is a 2.0-liter 250 hp 4-cylinder turbo and a 1.8-liter hybrid powertrain.

Our test model was the well-equipped LS trim, with an impressive array of features. The 1.5-litre turbo provided a peppy driving experience and decent fuel economy. Our tests yielded 490km on tank of gas and gave us an impressive average fuel economy of 8.0L/100km.

After using up a tank of gas, we were able to fill it back up for $44.44 at a fuel cost of $1.05/liter.
