2016 Honda Civic – Fuel Economy Review

In this episode, we test drive the all new 2016 Honda Civic. New for this year is a choice of two engines – a 2-liter base engine and a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine capable of generating 174hp (@6500rpm) and 162lb-ft (@6000rpm) respectively.

Our test model was equipped with the turbo engine, which provided a peppy driving experience and very good fuel economy. Our tests yielded 271km on a half tank of gas and gave us an impressive average fuel economy of 8.3L/100km.

After using up a half tank of gas, we were able to fill it back up for $24 at a fuel cost of $1/liter. At that rate, expect to spend around $48 for a full tank of gas.
