In this episode, we test drive the all new 2016 Nissan Sentra. With its standard CVT transmission and small engine, the Sentra might be one of the most fuel efficient compacts on North American roads. Our tester was equipped with a 1.8-liter engine capable of generating 130hp (@6000rpm) and 128lb-ft (@3,600rpm). While this is the only engine choice, a turbocharged Sentra is expected to enter the market sometime next year.
Our test model was the well-equipped SL trim, with an impressive array of features. The 1.8-liter was a decent performer and provided excellent fuel economy. Our test yielded 576km on tank of gas and gave us an average fuel economy of 6.9L/100km.
After using up a half tank of gas, we were able to fill it back up for $44.07at a fuel cost of $1.01/liter.
