In this episode, we test drive the all new 2017 Chevrolet Cruze Hatch. With its small yet powerful 1.4L Turbo engine and peppy 6-speed automatic, the Cruze offered decent fuel economy numbers without sacrificing the driving experience. Output is rated at 153hp (@5,600rpm) and 177lb-ft (@2,000 – 4,000rpm) – slightly lower than the Civic (158hp) but higher than the Sentra (130hp).
Our test model was the well-equipped Premier trim, with an impressive array of features. Our test yielded 592km on tank of gas and gave us an average fuel economy of 7.5L/100km.
After using up a half tank of gas, we were able to fill it back up for $44.07 at a fuel cost of $1.01/liter.
