2017 Chevrolet Colorado – Fuel Economy + Fill Up Costs

In this episode, we test drive the all new 2017 Chevrolet Colorado. The compact pick-up truck segment has seen some real innovation lately with Toyota, GM, Ford, and Honda all releasing sporty soft-roaders that, despite their size, aren’t afraid to rough it out. Launched alongside the GMC Canyon, Chevy’s Colorado offers performance and capability that its trucks are known for – in a compact package.Output is rated at 308hp (@6,600rpm) and 275lb-ft (@4,000rpm).

Our test model was equipped with a four-wheel drivetrain. The Colorado is also offered with an efficient 2.8-liter 4-cylinder diesel. Our real-world fuel range as-tested is 538km on a tank of gas and we achieved an average fuel economy of 13.8L/100km.

After using up a half tank of gas, we were able to fill it back up for $64.02 at a fuel cost of $1.07/liter.

2017 Chevrolet Cruze – Fuel Economy Review + Fill Up Costs

In this episode, we test drive the all new 2017 Chevrolet Cruze Hatch. With its small yet powerful 1.4L Turbo engine and peppy 6-speed automatic, the Cruze offered decent fuel economy numbers without sacrificing the driving experience. Output is rated at 153hp (@5,600rpm) and 177lb-ft (@2,000 – 4,000rpm) – slightly lower than the Civic (158hp) but higher than the Sentra (130hp).

Our test model was the well-equipped Premier trim, with an impressive array of features. Our test yielded 592km on tank of gas and gave us an average fuel economy of 7.5L/100km.

2016 Chevrolet Malibu – Fuel Economy Review

In this episode, we test drive the all new 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. The Malibu comes standard with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine capable of generating 163hp (@5700rpm) and 250lb-ft (@2500-3500rpm), which is the model we tested. Also available is a 2.0-liter 250 hp 4-cylinder turbo and a 1.8-liter hybrid powertrain.

Our test model was the well-equipped LS trim, with an impressive array of features. The 1.5-litre turbo provided a peppy driving experience and decent fuel economy. Our tests yielded 490km on tank of gas and gave us an impressive average fuel economy of 8.0L/100km.

After using up a tank of gas, we were able to fill it back up for $44.44 at a fuel cost of $1.05/liter.
