2020 Honda Odyssey: Fuel Economy Review + Fill Up Costs

In this episode, we test drive the all-new Honda Odyssey. A popular choice among families, the Odyssey offers lots of space and technology innovations that set a new benchmark for the future of the minivan. Surprisingly, the Odyssey has managed to continue surviving even with the introduction of the equally spacious seven-passenger Pilot.

Our test model featured a 3.5-liter 6-cylinder engine coupled to a class-exclusive 10-speed automatic transmission. Horsepower and torque is rated at 280hp and 262 lb-ft respectively (watch the video for further details). Our real-world fuel range as-tested is 675km on a tank of fuel. For every one liter of fuel, we are able to drive 9.15 kilometers. Watch the video below for the complete review.

After using up almost a full tank of gas, we were able to fill it back up for $41.07 for 36.3 liters of fuel at a fuel cost of $1.129/liter. At that fuel price, it would cost $83.32 to fill the Odyssey’s 73.8-liter fuel tank.

2016 Honda Civic Coupe – Fuel Economy Review

In this episode, we test drive the all new 2016 Honda Civic Coupe. New for this year is a choice of two engines – a 2-liter base engine and a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine capable of generating 174hp (@6000rpm) and 162lb-ft (@1700-5500rpm) respectively.

Our test model was equipped with the turbo engine, which provided a peppy driving experience and very good fuel economy. Our tests yielded 453km on tank of gas and gave us an impressive average fuel economy of 7.8L/100km.

After using up a tank of gas, we were able to fill it back up for $44.44 at a fuel cost of $1.05/liter.

Our test model was equipped with the turbo engine, which provided a peppy driving experience and very good fuel economy. Our tests yielded 271km on a half tank of gas and gave us an impressive average fuel economy of 8.3L/100km.

After using up a half tank of gas, we were able to fill it back up for $24 at a fuel cost of $1/liter. At that rate, expect to spend around $48 for a full tank of gas.
