2017 KIA Sportage: Fuel Economy Review + Fill Up Costs

In this episode, we test drive the all new 2017 KIA Sportage. For a compact sports utility, the Sportage offers a bold exterior design coupled with an elegant, stylish interior.

Our test model featured the upgraded 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine and an all-wheel drive system. Horsepower and torque is rated at 237hp and 260 lb-ft respectively (watch the video for further details). The Sportage is also offered with a base 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that generates 181 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. Our real-world fuel range as-tested is 534km on a tank of gas and we achieved an average fuel economy of 10.4L/100km (as shown). Watch the video below for the complete review.

After using up almost a full tank of gas, we were able to fill it back up for $34.23 for 31.7 liters of fuel at a fuel cost of $1.079/liter. At that fuel price, it would cost $66.89 to fill the Sportage’s 62-liter fuel tank.

2017 Nissan Rogue – Fuel Economy Review + Fill Up Costs

In this episode, we test drive the all new 2017 Nissan Rogue. The Rogue offers a third option for buyers looking to stray away from the aging RAV4 and the common CR-V, bu still want the reliability and resale of a Japanese automobile. The 2017 Rogue comes with a refreshed and restyled exterior with a bold grille, front headlamps, and rear taillights – among other updates.

Our test model featured a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine coupled to a fuel efficient Continuously Variable Transmission. Horsepower and torque is rated at 170hp and 175 lb-ft respectively (watch the video for further details). Our real-world fuel range as-tested is 465km (283 miles) on a tank of fuel. After using up almost a full tank of gas, we were able to fill it back up for $32.48 for 30.7 liters of fuel at a fuel cost of $1.056/liter. At that fuel price, it would cost $58 to fill the Rogue’s 55-liter fuel tank.

2020 Mitsubishi Outlander – Fuel Economy Review + Fill Up Costs

In this episode, we test drive the all new Mitsubishi Outlander. With recent news of the brand’s pure focus on sport-utility vehicles, the Outlander will continue to be their biggest SUV at least in their North American line-up. Recognizing the higher profits to be made in the lucrative SUV market, Mitsubishi will be introducing an all-new Eclipse SUV and an Outlander plug-in hybrid next year.

Our test model was equipped with Mitsubishi’s All-Wheel Control system. Horsepower and torque on our 2.4-liter 4-cylinder is rated at 166hp and 162 lb-ft respectively. The Outlander is also offered with a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine that generates 224 horsepower and 215 lb-ft of torque. Our real-world fuel range as-tested is 647km on a tank of gas and we achieved an average fuel economy of 9.3L/100km (as shown). Watch the video below for the complete review.

After using up almost a full tank of gas, we were able to fill it back up for $53.02 for 52.5 liters of fuel at a fuel cost of $1.009/liter. At that fuel price, it would cost $60.54 to fill the Outlander’s 60-liter fuel tank.

2017 Chevrolet Colorado – Fuel Economy + Fill Up Costs

In this episode, we test drive the all new 2017 Chevrolet Colorado. The compact pick-up truck segment has seen some real innovation lately with Toyota, GM, Ford, and Honda all releasing sporty soft-roaders that, despite their size, aren’t afraid to rough it out. Launched alongside the GMC Canyon, Chevy’s Colorado offers performance and capability that its trucks are known for – in a compact package.Output is rated at 308hp (@6,600rpm) and 275lb-ft (@4,000rpm).

Our test model was equipped with a four-wheel drivetrain. The Colorado is also offered with an efficient 2.8-liter 4-cylinder diesel. Our real-world fuel range as-tested is 538km on a tank of gas and we achieved an average fuel economy of 13.8L/100km.

After using up a half tank of gas, we were able to fill it back up for $64.02 at a fuel cost of $1.07/liter.
